Hello, this is Hashscraper.

Today, I brought a case study on data utilization!

Among our partners and customers who work with us, there are those who are curious about 'How is the collected data utilized'.

For those individuals, I will share about actual customers, what data they collect, and how they utilize it.

Newspaper, TV Channel Article Collection: KBS

The case I will introduce today is 'Newspaper, TV Channel Article Collection'.

Recently, KBS contacted us. They requested us to collect specific articles from the internet news channel 000.

We completed the task in just one day, and the data we collected ended up being featured in a TV program!

It was the 'Journalism Talk Show J', which I happened to come across and found it interesting.

KBS Journalism Talk Show J, have you ever watched it?

It is a program where journalists' coverage and expert panels delve into societal absurdities and issues in Korean journalism through sharp discussions.

The discussion topic was the ongoing 'verification of reports on the candidate for Minister of Justice (currently the Minister)'.

The suspicions raised were being reported as facts, so we investigated whether these reports were indeed factual or sensationalized.

In recent times, there have been too many articles about the Minister of Justice.

Apart from the overwhelming number of articles, the titles were so sensational, leading to a flood of clickbait articles.

Analyzing the amount of articles about the Minister of Justice in the top 5 daily newspapers and major TV channels for about 2-3 weeks, we found that both the newspapers and TV channels had 10 to 20 times more articles focused on ethical verification compared to policy verification.

There were more articles focused on ethical verification rather than articles with valid evidence, especially emphasizing 'education issues' that touch upon the frustrations and disappointments of the public.

When a specific topic is excessively covered, it becomes difficult for anyone to make an accurate judgment.

Articles filled with uncertain information, indiscriminate suspicions, and situational reports that create anxiety need to stop!

I would like to see articles based on facts or articles that present both support and opposition based on interests.

This was a case where articles were collected to objectively reveal the truth.

Moving forward, I hope to reflect on the present moment based on such real data, and I wish for more reports that help us make informed decisions from a primitive perspective by accurately ventilating the environment surrounding us with articles containing fact-based opinions.
