1. Data Preparation
1.1. Accessing the Scraper
To prepare the data, we utilized our HashScraper's scraper.
Click on the Instagram posting collection in the SNS tab as shown in the image below.
1.2. Setting Parameters
Click on the red area to set the parameters.
1.3. Saving Settings
In this example, we set the search keyword to "더마블스" and the maximum collection count to 500, then saved the settings.
1.4. Starting Data Collection
Then, the data with the search keyword "더마블스" based on the setting of 500 data points will be collected, and click the View button.
1.5. Data Collection Results
You can see that the data has been successfully extracted as shown in the image below.
1.6. Excel Download
You can download the data and view it in Excel as shown below.
2. Utilizing Tableau
2.1. Sharing in Tableau
Open the downloaded Instagram crawling Excel data in Tableau by clicking on Connect to Data and then selecting Microsoft Excel.
2.2. Checking the Data
You can open and check the data in Tableau as shown in the image below.
2.3. Splitting Hashtag Column in Tableau
Split the hashtag column by commas in Tableau.
2.4. Creating a New Sheet in Tableau
By clicking the New Sheet button at the bottom of Tableau, you can easily view and analyze the data columns by dragging them.
3. Analysis-1
3.1. Analysis of Related Hashtags in Search Results
Let's analyze the hashtags mainly related to "더마블스" search results.
3.2. Column Setup
First, drag the newly created column for hashtags to the right, and then drag Sheet1 (Count) to the right. In Tableau, set the hashtag separation as a dimension and count as a measure.
3.3. Selecting Visualization Type
Then, choose a bar graph from the visualization options on the right side of Tableau.
3.4. Checking the Results
You can see that the results show 박서준, 마블, CODE10, and more related to "더마블스" in the order of counts.
4. Analysis-2
4.1. Converting to Integer Type
First, convert the number of likes to an integer type. This will change the display of the column to hashtags.
4.2. Creating a New Sheet
Next, create a new sheet.
4.3. Setting Measures and Visualization Type
Set the number of likes as a measure. Then, set the hashtag separation column as a dimension as before, and represent it as a bar graph.
4.4. Combining and Listing Hashtags
This time, the hashtags that appear together when searching for "더마블스" are combined by likes count and listed in that order.
4.5. Transforming into Treemap
The image below shows the bar graph transformed into a treemap.
5. Conclusion
In this post, we utilized the HashScraper service to build big data and used Tableau for data visualization.
